Youth Action Summit

True Story
Youth have energy and time with no money. But we live in a time where connectivity and knowledge matter more than how much money one has.

The Summit
YAS is a one-day summit organized by AIESEC in Kenyatta University. This summit will bring together young leaders, students, business and other leaders to demystify the Sustainable Development Goals and deeper understand how young people can shape Africa.

The summit is driven to empower youth in Kenya to Think Global and Act Local. Instead of waiting for one day or someday to have the Africa we want, it is us youth to make it happen.

The theme of the event is ‘Youth Shaping Africa’. This is because a time has come where youth need to rise, become self-aware, and move Africa where it needs to be. Its overdue in fact, but we still have time to improve on ourselves and act. Act towards shaping Africa by contributing to realizing the Sustainable Development Goals.

Africa has so much potential to develop. Categorically speaking, Kenya is a land of opportunities. Our political environment and constitution uphold rights and freedoms that allow youth to work and express themselves freely. Our government has opened opportunities for young people to operate and support youth activities.

So why not take the bull by the horns and decide to uphold integrity by undertaking a project on SDG 16: Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions. Or work towards a green economy which by the way will be Africa using comparative advantage to get ahead economically, by working on SDGs 12: Responsible Consumption and Production, SDG 13: Climate Action, SDG 14: Life Below Water or SDG 15: Life on Land.

As AIESEC, we have entrusted leadership to the Youth, people from 18-35, and we give them a space to grow disruptively and make an impact in the world through our 3 exchange products. Over the years, youth have been solving issues on Culture: sharing their culture and breaking stereotypes.

Health: raising awareness on various health issues around the world and being part of healthy solutions.

Social entrepreneurship: putting your individual business skills to the test learning and contributing to an NGO or small business abroad.

Environment: sharing and gaining global perspectives on environmental issues.

Education: Demystify quality education and get it to classrooms around the world.
Go ahead and register for our summit and come and learn more through participation and interaction with independent thinkers who want to change this world, take the risk and explore what you can do to change this world.
